I’m submitting my Docol Tube R8 project for the competition.
Attached are pictures of my FWD drag car. It’s a 2000 Acura Integra. The car makes 1000+ whp with a 1.9L engine.
Docol Tube R8 is used throughout the SFI 25.5C cage. All done in-house by myself and my partner Steve Andrew of Quantum Raceworks in Selkirk NY.
We used it because it’s strong, and in an accident isn’t brittle. It bends. Purpose of this project was to push all the boundaries and get this car in the 7 second 1/4 mike track zone with current rules. Safety is paramount to our team.
We also love how it welds compared to chromoly. Very clean and consistent.
Tubes are purchased from AED Motorsport Products.
