Last Monday, Mats and LG got an experience at sea. We got the opportunity through SSAB to get along and sail with CQS Maxi Yacht from the Sydney Hobart Race. Which gave us an experience for life.
They had first lifted the entire boat at Oxelösund harbor to see the keel that is under the boat. They can swing it side to side so the boat can sail more upright and gain more speed.
Skipper and owner of the boat Ludde Ingvall did talk about his Big Boat Racing Project and Freddy Amigo sang the opera "Till havs" to us.
We had lunch while listening to SSAB how they made the keel steel, and also Hägglunds (BAE Systems) who machined the keel from 120 x 1250 x 6000mm SSAB Strenx 1100 steel.
Then we sailed from Oxelösund to Nynäshamn (Sweden), we had good wind and a nice day at the sea in 18 knots.
