Alla 6.1, 6.2 och 6.3 kopplinskåpor som saknar ”innerliner” eller liner som EJ går emot motorplåt, måste åtgärdas inför nästa (2014) års besiktning. SFI krävde detta 15 augusti 2012. Denna regeln gäller för NHRA från och med 15 november 2012 och för Sverige 31 mars 2013. Alla kåpor fick ett år i dispens förra året om detta inte åtgärdats tidigare, även de som normalt besiktigas vartannat år fick ett år i dispens, och måste alltså besiktas igen 2014.
(Denna dispens gäller i Europa. Kör ni i USA måste kåpan vara besiktigad före 15 november
2012, om ”innerliner” saknas eller inte sitter mot motorplåten.)
ME Racing Service AB (MERS) kan åtgärda alla kåpor inför nästa års besiktning.

Bellhousings
Effective: August 15, 2012*
Modify Paragraph 2.3 as follows: “Any bellhousing pertaining to this specification
shall remain as constructed by the original manufacturer and not modified. If a
bellhousing is tested to this specification with the addition of a liner or liners, then
the product must be sold and certified in that configuration. The liner(s) must be
flush with the flange/mounting surface of the bellhousing. Steel and titanium
are the current acceptable materials. Aluminum is also acceptable if used with a
steel or titanium liner. The use of any other material must be reviewed by the
committee for consideration.”
*Implementation Clarification: Spec Paragraph 16.0 requires compliance with this
latest specification version within 90 days of the effective date for new product.
Therefore, newly manufactured bellhousings must comply with the above
requirement as of November 15, 2012. Existing bellhousings in the field may be
brought into compliance upon their next scheduled inspection and recertification by
the manufacturer.
NHRA NOTE: This applys to all SFI 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 bellhousings. For SFI 6.1 and
6.3 bellhousings the liner may be notched/relieved in the starter pocket area to clear
the starter gear housing/nose.
