Here is another Formula Student team that MERS has sponsored 2017 with Docol Tube R8.
These come from Linköping University (LiU) in Sweden, as we have also received a thank-you letter from.
Good bye ER17, welcome ER18!
The summer of 2017 had us on full throttle. We achieved a lot of useful testing during the weekends and all problems that arouse was worked hard on to fix throughout the weekdays. This was a large key to our success during the competition Formula Student UK at Silverstone. We managed to make ER17 reliable and thereby score well overall in the dynamic events.
After a very intensive summer we can proudly look back at this year´s project. We delivered our lightest car ever and at this year’s competition earnt us 18th place, which is the best placement in the team´s history! However, this achievement is not an individual merit. The work and diligence of more than 45 students from 10 different programmes, the know-how and the support of our numerous sponsors and supporters allowed us to get this far. The whole team looks back with great pride and enthusiasm at the Formula Student UK and the last 12 months of the development, design and testing of the car.
During the competition, we had the privilege to have some of the best racing engineers in the world as judges. Many of these engineers are or have been working in Formula 1, for teams like Williams, Ferrari, Mercedes, Force India and Sauber! Our team members learned massive amounts from this experience and will be able to use this knowledge to develop an even better car during 2017/18.
Since the competition we are proud to have been interviewed by Swedish television (SVT) as well as local newspapers.
The 2017 season has come to an end and LiU Formula Student would like to send a great gratitude to our sponsors! Throughout your generous contribution, we could realize our ideas in ER17. This has given each one of us an opportunity to grow within our profession as well as a person, ER17 wouldn’t exist without your support.
The ER18 project has just begun. We are aiming to take a huge step closer to the top combustion teams in the world by putting great effort in to increasing the power-to-weight ratio of the car and overall keep reducing our weaknesses as a team and improving our strengths. LiU Formula Student are excited over this upcoming year and hope that you once again want to join us on this journey!
Thank you LiU Formula Student 2017, and good luck in the future from us at ME Racing Serivice AB (MERS).
